It seems the Mercedes F600 we just covered is just a glimpse of Mercedes’ future. Through its Sustainable Mobility plan they are aiming to move the range away from fossil fuel power by 2015. The first step is a Start/Stop technology to be featured on their 2009 model year A and B-Class city cars in Europe. Then they’ll start introducing internal combustion engines that run on bio fuels, then hybrid, plug-in electric and hydrogen powered models throughout the range. So as we’ve been predicting, it seems that we are getting to the end of the horsepower wars and cars like the V12 Twin Turbo S65 and Maclaren SLR are not long for this world
